Community Hall / Centre (maximum capacity including children of all ages)

Please note that the Bill Lovelee Youth Centre cannot be hired during seasonal periods. If you would like to hire this venue, please be aware that council may contact you to confirm the date of hire. 

Bookings are accepted between 08:00 am and 11:59 pm only.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Setup time and cleaning time is part of your hire and must be included in your hire time.

  • Hall hire charges are by the HOUR only.

Total number of people using the hall

Please note that parties from ages 13 and above will require security. 

Please note only the following facilities have a PA system for microphones: 

Bankstown Senior Citizens’ Centre, Chester Hill Community Centre (Blue Hall), Georges Hall Community Centre, Greenacre Citizens’ Centre, and Revesby Community Centre. Use of microphone is included in the hire fee. Riverwood Community Hub and Yagoona Community Centre (Main Hall) have projection and sound which you may utilize with your own laptop and connection cords (HDMI or VGA).

If alcohol is sold on the premises OR alcohol is to be consumed on the premises and you are an incorporated Community Group or Sporting Club, a liquor licence application must be completed and submitted to your nearest Police station. Please forward a copy of the licence to Council at least 10 days before the function.

Security

If Council identifies your proposed function is of a high-risk nature, it will be compulsory to hire security personnel (at your own cost), who must be present prior to, during and after the event/function. Where security is required, the ratio shall be a minimum of one (1) security guard for every 50 guests attending. Council reserves the right to increase this ratio for very high-risk functions. 

You are required to provide: 

  • A copy of the security licence AND

  • A letter on the security company letterhead advising the times they will be attending the function and confirming guard numbers.

These documents must be provided at the time of making an application.

Non-Mechanical Amusement Devices - Jumping Castles

Jumping Castles are ONLY permitted at the following facilities: 

  • Bill Lovelee Youth Centre

  • Georges Hall Community Centre

  • Endeavour Hall

  • Hurlstone Memorial Reserve Community Centre

Please note they are not allowed in the hall itself, only the outside area can be used. All requests for non-mechanical amusement devices must be accompanied by a copy of the amusement company's 'Certificate of Currency' (Public Liability Insurance) with a minimum of $20,000,000 coverage and noting Canterbury Bankstown Council as an Interested Party. 

Please also note

  • The jumping castle cannot be placed inside the hall under ANY circumstances.

  • No vehicle access is permitted

  • No power is provided - power must come from a generator (Council does not provide generators).

  • No pegging is allowed, the jumping castle must be weighted.

Bond

The refund of any fees and/or bonds will be refunded via EFT.

Hirer's Checklist

Agreement

The Organisation/Group/Individual agrees with Canterbury Bankstown Council to use the hall and the key to that hall on the following terms: 

  • To abide by the Terms and Conditions applying to the use of the Community Hall

  • To use the hall only for agreed times and purpose specified on application.

  • To ensure the maintenance of good order at the hall during its use and to leave the hall on each occasion of use in a clean and tidy state.

  • To report any damage or break-in to Council immediately.

  • To lock all windows and doors and disarm and arm the hall security system as required on entry and exit.

  • Cancellation fees apply for cancellations made within 10 days and/or 48 hours prior to yourbooking

  • Cleaning equipment/products are to be supplied by the hirer.

  • Council has the right to refuse a booking without the necessity to give a reason.

  • Please note that copies of the key can only be made by Council.

  • If an insurance claim is made the hirer may be responsible for the excess fee.

Please be advised that bookings are only secured when a completed application form with full payment is provided to council, and a confirmation letter is issued.

COVID Conditions of Hire Form

Community Halls / Centres / Meeting Rooms – Casual Hire

Canterbury Bankstown Council has an ongoing commitment to limiting the spread of COVID and in keeping our community safe. Therefore, all hirers of Council’s Community Facilities are required to adhere to the following COVID safety measures.

  • Monitor and adhere, at all times, to NSW Health COVID Restrictions at the time of your hire.

  • Cooperating with NSW Health in the event of a site inspection or for contact tracing.

  • Remind members and guests to stay away if unwell.

As a condition of hire, this form must be signed and returned to the Community Facilities Team at hallbookings@cbcity.nsw.gov.au with your Casual Hall Hire Application. Failure to return this form or adhere to the conditions may result in a cancellation of your hire.
