Council is pleased to work with and support local community organisations and groups that are planning to host a small Racism Not Welcome (RNW) or International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD) event in 2025. Events may be held at any time during the year.
Community organisations and groups are encouraged to reach out to Council if their event would benefit from Council support, including help with venue hire, catering or guest speaker fees. Council will assess each request based on the detailed description of the event provided.
Please complete the information below and submit the form at least eight weeks before the date of your event.
Events/activities should meet the following criteria:
Events/activities are to be conducted in the Canterbury-Bankstown Local Government Area (LGA).
Events/activities should be open to anyone living in the LGA and should be inclusive and accessible.
Events/activities must be alcohol and drug free.
Events/activities must not be of a religious or political nature.
Events/activities must recognise Council's support of your project.
Applicants must provide evidence of the project within two weeks of holding their event.
All projects must align with the following actions outlined in CBCity's Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan and the CBCity Cultural Diversity Plan:

Please note that Council has limited resources and is unable to support all local events. The support community organisations and groups can request from Council includes, but is not limited to:
Venue and park hire and booking
Contribution towards guest speaker fees
Contribution towards catering
Giveaways, such as pens and notebooks
RNW resources, including RNW banners and translated RNW collateral
